I’m inclined to believe this is a Mac issue, since Audacity was also not recognizing the Scarlett, but I thought I’d put this out there to see if anyone else has experienced something like this and might know what is wrong.Wavosaur, a free sound editor, audio editor and wav editor software, allows you to edit, process and record sounds, wav files, and mp3 files. Nothing there seems to help, and I’m having a very hard time finding any Ocenaudio troubleshooting information. #Ocenaudio change mic drivers#I’ve tried unplugging everything and plugging it all back in, I’ve been looking for errant old USB drivers and installing new ones recommended on the Focusrite website, and I’ve been reading all their other troubleshooting articles. That is connected (via USB) to my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and I’m recording through an AKG 214C, but I don’t think this has anything to do with the mic because I can hear myself fine in the monitor when I’m just test chatting (before I start recording). I use a Mac laptop that is running Mojave. I should add that when I try to use Audacity to record instead, it won’t even recognize my Scarlett device when I try to choose inputs and outputs. I have to change the preferences to my default playback to hear that awful sound through my laptop speakers. Additionally, when I playback the file, the sound does not come back through the Scarlett into my headphones even though that’s my selected playback device. You can tell by looking at the wave form, though, that all I’m actually recording is a weird digital artifact noise (sounds like Neo screaming as he gets sucked out of the Matrix and into the real world). The last two times I’ve tried to record, I don’t get any sound in my headphones even though Ocenaudio’s little monitor shows that it’s actually picking up my voice and the wave form actually appears in the visual field. Just recently my set up has quit working and I’m trying desperately to troubleshoot but getting nowhere yet with information available online, so I thought I’d turn to the collective wisdom of Reddit. EDIT: I got functionality back! Apparently reinstalling some drivers and completely rebooting my laptop did the trick. ![]()
